2. Submission Parameters

  • The Work must not exceed 3,000 words. Submissions longer than this limit may be rejected without review. 

  • Please upload your work as a PDF or a Word Document.

  • Story Content; horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and mystery, are the preferred genres. Self-help, religious content, or non-fiction stories will be immediately disqualified.

3. Author’s Representations

Author represents and warrants that:

  • The Work is original, created solely by the Author.

  • The Work does not infringe on any copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights.

  • The Work contains no defamatory, unlawful, or plagiarized content.

  • The Author has full authority to grant the rights listed below.

4. Rights Granted to the Producer/Host

By submitting the Work, Author grants the Producer/Host a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:

  • Read, perform, record, adapt, edit, and/or excerpt the Work for the Podcast;

  • Distribute the recording on all podcast platforms and social media;

  • Promote the recorded episode using excerpts, quotes, or summaries from the Work.

Author retains ownership of the Work and may publish it elsewhere at any time.

5. Right to Decline or Refuse Content

The Producer/Host may refuse to read, perform, or feature the Work for any reason, including—but not limited to—content deemed objectionable. This includes:

  • Disparaging or demeaning language about minority groups, religions, LGBTQ communities, or other protected groups;

  • Hate speech or targeted harassment;

  • Content conflicting with the values or standards of the Podcast.

No compensation will be provided for refused submissions.

6. No Expectation of Compensation

Submission of the Work does not guarantee it will be featured on the Podcast. Author agrees that no payment, royalties, or fees are owed by the Producer/Host for reading, performing, or distributing the Work.

7. Prohibition on AI and Synthetic Voice Use

Author agrees and acknowledges that while they may share, promote, publish, or otherwise use the recorded episode or any excerpt thereof, the Author is strictly prohibited from using, uploading, training, or providing the Producer/Host’s voice, likeness, performance, or any audio created for the Podcast to any artificial intelligence system, machine-learning model, text-to-speech tool, voice-cloning tool, or generative model of any kind.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Training AI or machine learning systems;

  • Creating synthetic voice models or replicas of the Producer/Host;

  • Generating new audio, performances, or derivative works using AI based on the Producer/Host’s recorded voice;

  • Allowing third parties to do any of the above.

Any such use is expressly prohibited and constitutes a material breach of this Agreement. The Author understands that all AI-related rights to the Producer/Host’s voice and performance are fully reserved

8. Submission Acceptance

Should your story be accepted for production by Connor Reads Books, you will be sent an email with a contract outlining what has been stated above, and will require your signature before productions starts.

Should your story be accepted, the terms agreed to, and contract signed. You will be provided with a digital copy of the contract in the form of a PDF.
